In St. Petersburg opened a case of incitement to suicide in “Vkontakte”

Investigation Department of the TFR in St. Petersburg conducted a review of publications in mass media information about “closed” groups in social network “Vkontakte” that may tempt Teens to suicide, according to the Investigative Committee. After checking the criminal case was brought on signs of the crime provided by part 4 of article 33, article 110 of the criminal code (incitement to incitement to suicide), it is noted in the message of the RCDS.

The consequence plans to appoint a number of examinations, including linguistic and computer, to find out the circumstances of the crime and to prosecute the persons involved in its Commission.

The assistant administrator of GSU SK across Petersburg Sergey Kapitonov has told TASS that the suspects may be in Petersburg. “According to these groups “Vkontakte”, they are physically unable to be in St. Petersburg,” said Kapitonov.

According to the newspaper, for six months from November 2015 to April 2016 — suicide to 130 underage users of social networks, which consisted in these groups.

The official representative of Roscomnadzor Vadim Ampelonskiy later told RBC that the Agency will verify the information provided in the investigation of the newspaper. May 17, Roskomnadzor reported blocking the eight groups of “Vkontakte” with the promotion of suicide. The Agency noted that the administrators of several large communities that intentionally pushed subscribers to suicidal behavior, have been identified by the social network users and journalists.
