In the area of armed conflict in the Donbass observed decrease in the number of violations of the cease-fire. This was stated to journalists by the representative of the OSCE contact group on Ukraine Martin sajdik after a meeting in Minsk, reports “Interfax”.
He added that the subgroup on safety continued ceasefire. However, the Russian representative in the contact group Boris Gryzlov said that in the Donbass continues the ceasefire violations.
“Unfortunately, attacks in the Donbas has resumed. This is a clear demonstration of the fact that without a political solution any solution in the field of security is temporary and short-lived. People who find themselves on both sides of the line of contact, as well as Europe as a whole needed a durable peace”, — said Gryzlov.
Sajdik said that progress in resolving the issue regarding the exchange of prisoners there. According to him, a new stage of negotiations of the contact group scheduled for June 1. He added that the issue of Amnesty in the Donbas was postponed until this period, reports “RIA Novosti”.
Sidik also said that during the meeting they discussed the question, which sites may occur breeding forces on the contact line of the parties to the conflict in the Donbass.
Press Secretary of the Ukrainian representative in the group of Leonid Kuchma Daria olifer on his page in Facebook reported that the contact group discussed, among other things, the implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as the liberation of debaltseve.
At the same olifer reported that representatives of certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions did not fulfill the obligation on a comprehensive ceasefire during the Easter holidays. In addition, it called “gross violation” of the Minsk agreements, the holding of may 9 in Donetsk parade with participation of military equipment.
Olifer also said that the militia has blocked the release of hostages because “they are tied to Amnesty.” In her opinion, they are two different actions that are absolutely different things. She says that she has been restricted the admission of experts of the International Committee of the red cross to the Ukrainian hostages who are in non-government controlled parts of Donbass.
Press Secretary Kuchma also wrote that “the holding of elections in certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions is not feasible” due to “ongoing attacks” in some areas of Donbass.
The contact group consisting of representatives of OSCE, Ukraine and Russia, in September 2014 agreed to a cease-fire, stop the current line of contact and establish a 30-kilometer security zone. However, the militia and Kiev continue to accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
