Medvedev approved candidates for election to the Board of Directors of Russian Railways

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved the list of candidates for election to the Board of Directors of JSC “Russian Railways”. The order was published on the website of the Cabinet.

According to the document, in the list of candidates include, in particular, the President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Minister of Finance Andrey Ivanov, Deputy Minister of economic development Nikolai Podguzov and current member of the Board of Directors of Russian Railways Hartmut Mehdorn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ESN Energo Grigory Berezkin.

In addition, the number of candidates also were Deputy transport Minister Alexei Tsydenov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Russian Holding Company” Alexander Ryazanov, the Chairman of Fund of assistance to reforming of housing and communal services Sergei Stepashin, etc.

The list does not hit the current members of the Board of Directors — ex-President of the company Vladimir Yakunin and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC Technological Company” Dmitry Komissarov.

Yakunin had resigned as head of the Russian Railways in August 2015. The President of the company he has held since June 2005. In October last year, the newspaper “Vedomosti” reported on the change in the composition of the Board of Directors of the company.
