The new US Ambassador in Ukraine will be Marie Yovanovitch, but in 2012, occupying the post of Deputy assistant Secretary in the Bureau for Europe and Asia. This writes the Ukrainian newspaper “Day” with reference to sources in the foreign Ministry.
From 2008 to 2011, Yovanovitch was Ambassador to Armenia, as previously, from 2005 to 2008 — in Kyrgyzstan. In addition, as reported on the website of the state Department, she was Deputy head of the US diplomatic mission in Kiev. She worked in embassies in Moscow, London, Ottawa and Mogadishu. Jovanovic is fluent in Russian.
The current American Ambassador to Ukraine Jeffrey Payette will head the diplomatic mission in Greece, said on the eve of the local newspaper “Kathimerini”. Washington, according to him, has already sent the relevant documents to the government of Greece.
Pyatt arrived in Ukraine as U.S. Ambassador in August 2013. Prior to that, he worked in the office of the state Department for South and Central Asia. Payette was also the Chairman of the diplomatic mission to the International atomic energy Agency and represented the United States at the international organizations in Vienna.
