The Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov will take part in the meeting of foreign Ministers “channel four”. This was reported by “RIA Novosti” spokesman of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
She said that the meeting will be held on may 11 in Berlin. In addition to Lavrov, there will be German foreign Minister Frank Steinmeier, the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and French foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
The previous meeting of foreign Ministers “channel four” took place on 3 March. The Ministers discussed implementation of the Minsk agreements, however, are unable to agree on elections in separate districts of Donbas. Then Lavrov said that Moscow was ready to support the French-German proposal to hold elections in the Donbass in the first half of the year, however, Ukraine has asked not insist on it.
Klimkin noted that the organization of the elections in the Donbass it is necessary to ensure safety. He also added that this requires the control of the OSCE over the Russian-Ukrainian border.
The first meeting of foreign Ministers “channel four” took place in June 2014 in France. Then the Ministers discussed the consequences of the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine and the impact of the crisis on the economy of the country.
