The number of unsolved crimes in Russia last year topped 1 million-higher than in 2014 by 7%. This is stated in the report of the Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika, said in his speech at the plenary session of the Federation Council, the report said the Investigative Committee and Prosecutor General’s office.
“The implementation of the respective cases of operational records in most regions of frankly weak,” said the official, noting that the radical change in this matter can not achieve for a long time.
The Prosecutor also said that emerging in the nineteenth year of the downward trend in crime reversed in 2015, there were 2 million 388 thousand crimes that on 9% more than in 2014. According to him, the number of crimes rose in 77 of the 85 regions, and the leaders in the growth of steel Bashkortostan, Murmansk and Yaroslavl region (to 44%). Most of the increase was due to registration of crimes of small and moderate severity, the report said.
In the past year, the country investigated about 3,5 million criminal cases, said Chayka, noting a significant drawback continues to be the protracted nature of the investigation — about 186 thousand cases investigated in the period exceeding that prescribed by law.
Also, according to the head of Department, significantly increased the proportion of crimes small and average weight (up to 43.9% and 34.3%, respectively), and thus reduced the proportion of serious (16,5%) and especially grave crimes (to 5.3%).
