The Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of former Secretary of state Madeleine Albright that she was “fed up by the fact that Russia is always looking for an excuse”.
“Fed up” with Albright or not, it doesn’t matter. The US and allies are forced to reckon with Russia. But the opinion of the Secretary of state forgotten a little concerned,” wrote he in his Twitter.
Previously, Albright in an interview with the Austrian Die Presse has assessed the foreign policy of Russia and actions of President Vladimir Putin. “[Putin] is smart, but is he really an evil man. This is the KGB officer who wants control and believes that a conspiracy against Russia. That is not so,” she said.
Albright expressed the view that the economic successes of Russia in the beginning of Putin’s presidency were linked to “high oil prices”. “Putin has resorted to nationalism to distract the Russians from thinking that their country is just Bangladesh with missiles,” she said.
“I’m fed up by the fact that Russia is always looking for an excuse. Russia is a country that arranges provocations and feels insulted. Russia’s identity crisis,” said Albright.
