Businessman Grigorishin has agreed to indemnify against non-payment of taxes

Lawyers of businessman Konstantin Grigorishin, who is accused of tax evasion of almost 675 mln, declared the readiness of their client to compensate for the damage, although it said that the businessman not guilty, reports “Interfax”.

“Our defendant, without admitting guilt, ready to fully repair the damage,” said the lawyer Grigorishin in the Basmanny court of Moscow, where the court considered the petition of a consequence about correspondence arrest of the businessman. The defense asked the court to postpone consideration of a question on arrest.

Judge Arthur Karpov agreed with the arguments of the defense and adjourned the meeting until April 26. This time is necessary for the investigation to collected missing information about the Grigorishin, and also so that the businessman could compensate him for the damage sane, after which the criminal case against him may be closed.

“Gather all the data and come out with the petition. This need for judgment, the required data about the education, job and marital status. Grigorishin has a right to recover damages, and it would be better if the money as soon as possible will go to the budget,” said the judge.

The consequence considers that Grigorishin in 2009-2010 has not paid taxes of the company “PEAK Creativity”, the actual owner of which he is, in the amount of almost 675 mln.

The Agency reports the words were in court the Committee investigator, who said that “in the case of expression Grigorishin on payment of damages the case can be terminated”.

As previously wrote RBC, April 12, the businessman in absentia was formally charged, and on April 13 he was declared wanted, his property in Moscow was arrested. The defense tried to challenge the seizure of property, but the court recognized it lawful. Restrictions touched two apartments in the Dairy lane, apartments on Bolshaya Yakimanka street and a house in the village of Gorki-2 Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. The defence stated that ownership of an apartment in the Dairy lane has been transferred to the son of the accused long before the criminal case.

In the Forbes state Grigorishin, according to 2015, is estimated at $1.1 billion (in 2016 $0,95 billion). He owns the largest in Eastern Europe manufacturer of transformers “Zaporozhtransformator”. According to the publication, Grigorishin is a citizen of Cyprus and has Ukrainian passport.
