Employees of the Moscow police detained the man, who was wanted internationally for the recruitment of fighters for Islamic state (ISIS, prohibited in Russia). This was stated by the Minister of internal Affairs of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsev, reports RIA Novosti.
The man worked in Moscow as a taxi driver. “The other day ended in the capital of our country special operatively-preventive operation under the conditional name “Taxi”. Was tested 173 thousand drivers of passenger taxi… One was in the international wanted list for terrorist activities, recruited from the LIH to participate in hostilities”, — said Kolokoltsev in the program “Vesti on Saturday with Sergei Brilev” on TV channel “Russia 1”.
At the end of March there appeared information on detention in Moscow for almost two dozen people suspected of having links with the “Islamic state”. According to preliminary data, they were engaged in the search and recruitment of new members for ISIL. According to the source TASS in law enforcement bodies, they were engaged in propaganda and recruitment of people into the ranks of the “Islamic state” and have produced fake documents, including driving licences and patents for work. During the searches were confiscated computers, printers and other office equipment.
