The retirement age in Belarus will increase by three years to 58 years for women and 63 years for men. About it on air of TV channel “Belarus 1” said Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kochanova.
“The decision that will be adopted legal act about the increase of the retirement age for women 58 years, for men – 63. This is the most appropriate and soft variant”, — quotes Kochanova “Interfax”. The appropriate normative act will be signed soon, she said.
When raising the retirement age by three years, remains maneuverable to further enlarge, added Kochanova, BelTA reports. According to her, this transition will be less painful for people who are soon going to retire.
Previously, for raising the retirement age by three years was made by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. “I support the idea of a retirement age increase of three years, each year by half. And so we quietly, for six or seven years, can pass these three years,” he said. As has explained Lukashenko, Belarus is forced to take this step, because wages in the country, which forms the pension Fund is not growing.
As told Kochanova, in Belarus after retirement in the early years remain 68% women, among men, the figure is less. Just now in Belarus after retirement continue labor activity, about 25% of retirees.
