Putin will visit the Crimea on the day of the second anniversary of joining Russia

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit the Crimean Federal district on March 18. According to the press service of the Kremlin, reports “Interfax”.

In the framework of the working trip he will survey the progress of construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait on the island of Tuzla and will hold an operational meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, said in a statement.

March 16, 2014 Crimea and Sevastopol following the results of the referendum declared independence and became a part of Russia as two new regions. March 18, was signed the agreement on the accession of regions to Russia. Specially for new entities in the decree of Putin, was created the Crimean Federal district with its capital in Simferopol.

In February 2015, a contract was signed for the design and construction of transport crossing through the Kerch Strait that will link Crimea with Russia. The cost of the contract amounts to 228,3 billion rubles
