The Russian foreign Ministry together with a number of stakeholders are reassessed relations with the European Union. About this “Interfax” said a source in the Russian foreign Ministry.
He said that now the Ministry asks all agencies that participated in the relations with the EU in various areas. “It’s 18 sectoral dialogues and each dialogue has its own subgroups that interest them and what is not, what could be disposed of,” — said the Agency interlocutor. “By this we understand an inventory of relations with the EU,” he added.
The source noted that relations with Europe can no longer be based on the principle of “business as before”, because in the past the West has “always considered itself as a leader, it was believed that needs to tell us what to do and what not”. “We like this business does not need,” he added.
The interlocutor of “Interfax” said the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini declared a number of areas of cooperation with Russia, which is interested in the EU. “And we make our assessment of those questions which are of undoubted interest,” he said, noting that he does not know, “what it means”.
A few days ago, on March 14, Mogherini announced five guiding principles of EU policy towards Russia: the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the current policy of the EU to strengthen with the countries of Eastern partnership and Central Asian countries, strengthening “the internal stability of the European Union”, the restoration of cooperation with Moscow “on some selected areas” and the desire to support the development of civil society in Russia. After that, the Foreign Ministry said that there was nothing new in these principles.
