The UK has denied reports of handcuffs on the victims of the fires in Bashkortostan

The people who died in a fire in Sterlitamak, there were no handcuffs, reported “Interfax” the press service of the regional Department of the Investigative Committee (IC).

Initially, the UK reported that the victims of the fire, presumably, were citizens of former Soviet Union, arrived for work, however, later clarified that the victims were local residents. The SC noted that the building was not a barracks, the building was quite modern. The fire occurred only in one half at home, second part was not damaged.

The head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov said that the victims came to the centre because they tried to get rid of bad habits. “It’s such a labor gang, who through the work have tried to escape, including bad habits, — Khamitova quoted by his press service. — They were ordinary workers, hard workers. These are people who tried to do something in this life. I was wrong, maybe some of them went the wrong way. But this is their destiny.”
