Huawei has launched a 3D scanner of objects to Mate 20 Pro/RS

The front camera of the new flagship Huawei Mate 20 Pro can be used not only for unlocking. The system also allows you to create 3D models of objects, but at the start of the sales function is not supported. It was added just now.

How does it work?

First, the owner of Mate 20 Pro need to download a branded app 3D Live Maker from Google Play. It already has several preset models Panda, but you can add your own. According to the developers, the scanner function works best with toys (sizes from 15 to 35 centimeters), but only if it’s not a ball or a Rubik’s cube — on items round and rectangular shapes it is not intended. Transparent and reflective surface are not possible.

Are supported in the application AR effect with the selected object, but the animation will work fine only with the characters humanoid form. While the possibilities 3D Live Maker is very limited. Although, given the interest to Huawei technologies of augmented reality, over time, the application can receive the other chips.

3D scanner of objects is also supported on the expensive Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, which got exactly the same camera system on the front panel.
