Four Ukrainian students have received medals at the International Olympiad of astronomy

The team of Ukrainian students and graduates of the schools received 4 awards — 2 silver and 2 bronze at the International Olympiad of astronomy and astrophysics, which ended on 11 November in Beijing. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of education and science.

Just for the victory fought nearly 200 participants from 39 countries.

Students prove knowledge on the subjects taught in several rounds: theoretical, practical, team, as well as in the observation of the starry sky.

By results of competitions the participants of the Ukrainian national team has won such medals: “Silver” — Ivan Redkokashin, a graduate of KU “Kharkiv physico-mathematical Lyceum # 27, Kharkiv city Council of Kharkiv region”; “Silver” — Nazar fortune, graduate of the Lviv physics and mathematics Lyceum at Lviv national University. Ivan Franko; “Bronze” — Paul Gilea, a student of class 11 Lviv physics and mathematics Lyceum at Lviv national University. Ivan Franko; “Bronze” — Maxim Ryabokon, a graduate of Lyceum №142, Kiev.

The team also includes a graduate of the Lviv physics and mathematics Lyceum at Lviv national University. Franco Daniel Sagaydak. He received a commendation from the organizers of the Olympics.

Recall that last year Ukrainian student won the international competition with the invention for the purification of water from oil. The competition was held in the U.S. city of Oswego (new York).

International Olympiad on astronomy and astrophysics (International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, IOAA) occurs annually. The country party represents one team (no more than 5 pupils or students). The winners of the competition will determine the individual championship and awarded gold, silver and bronze medals and flag letters of commendation and prizes in individual categories, which are established by the host country of the Olympics.
