Mobile operator lifecell finished the 3rd quarter with a net loss of 185.6 million, which is twice more than the same period last year. This was reported in the quarterly financial report of the operator.
At the same time, other financial indicators of the company improved. In particular, a 9.1% increase in the income of the company and for the quarter amounted to 1,367 billion. This increase in income the company attributed the profit growth of mobile Internet usage and growing data traffic.
EBITDA increased even more, by 64% to 610 million, and margin increased from 29.7 to 44.6%. More than doubled and capital investments lifecell. In the third quarter they amounted to 576,8 million, while a year earlier the company invested of 234.2 million.

However, the subscriber base continues to decline. At the end of the third quarter of lifecell served 7.6 million subscribers, which is 7.3% less than in the third quarter of 2017. While 4.2 million subscribers are mobile Internet users. The smartphone penetration in the company’s network is the highest of the main “Troika” of the market, reaching 73%.
The decrease in the subscriber base of the company explain the decrease in the popularity of the trend of using multiple SIM cards in the country. Despite the fact that subscribers of the company becomes smaller, the average revenue per subscriber (ARPU) increased from 34.6 to 45 UAH, which, in turn, is associated with the growth of data traffic consumption.
