From January to September 2018, Ukraine exported goods in the food and agricultural industry $11.4 billion reported by the analytical Department of the Council for food exports (UFEB), referring to the state fiscal service of Ukraine.
The first place among the commodity groups cereal crops occupy — they exported $4.8 billion followed by fats and oils, prepared edible fats, waxes ($3.2 billion); seeds and fruits of oil plants, straw and fodder ($1.4 billion) meat and edible offal ($478,9 million) milk and dairy products, birds eggs, natural honey ($346,5 million).
Top 10 keywords of products that Ukraine exported to foreign markets in the first 9 months of 2018:
• sunflower oil ($2.9 billion);• corn ($2.3 billion);• wheat ($2 billion);• canola ($700 million);• soybeans ($600 million);• barley ($460 million);• poultry meat ($380 million);• sugar ($150 million);• chocolate ($119 million);• soybean oil ($117 million).
“Compared with the previous year, increased sales of poultry meat by 29% and chocolate exports increased by 21%. It should also be noted soybean oil (an increase of 18%), rapeseed (15%) and wheat (6%)”, — reported in the UFEB.
The total volume of goods from the top 10 accounted for 85% of the total value of exported products in the food and agricultural industry.
“The main export products continues to be raw. Moreover, this product follows global environmental trends — growing volumes of production and sales of organic products”, says the analytical Department of the Council on food exports.
In 2017 the export of agricultural products brought to Ukraine almost $18 billion.
It should be noted that it is possible to expect increase in export of apples. So, in October 2018 has opened its market for Ukrainian apples India, and a small company from the Ukrainian city of Sniatyn already exports apples to Norway and Sweden, and this year plans to enter the UAE market.
