Three Ukrainian hackers arrested in Europe on the request of the United States

MOSCOW, 2 Jun — RIA Novosti. The United States accused three citizens of Ukraine in cyber-attacks and the involvement of the hacker group FIN7, also known as Carbanak, they were arrested in Europe, according to a published statement of the American Ministry of justice.

The Ministry of justice reports that “citizens of Ukraine Fedor Hladyr (Fedir Hladyr), Dmitri Fedorov (Dmytro Fedorov) and Andrey Kolpakov (Andrii Kolpakov) are members of a hacker group known as FIN7”.

The indictments States that the members FIN7 hacked into thousands of computer systems and stole data from millions of credit card customers that hackers use themselves or resell.

According to the Ministry, from the actions of the group FIN7с 2015 injured more than 100 U.S. companies, including restaurants, gaming and hospitality business.

Each of the three detainees charged with 26 felonies, including fraud, hacking, identity theft.
Threatened with decades of prison

Ukrainian Fyodor Gladyrya, who was arrested and detained by American authorities on suspicion of hacking break-ins, threatening decades in prison, told RIA Novosti his lawyer Arkady Bukh.

He noted that the case is “very complicated” and “I have not yet decided whether to go (gladyrya) on the transaction with justice”.

About the activities in April, FIN7 wrote the publication Wired. Among the victims of hackers were specified and the Corporation Trump Hotels. The article said that hackers had their own software for hacking, and their approach to hacking edition described as a professional.

A source familiar with the investigation told RIA Novosti that in the case FIN7 will have on the Russians.
