Moscow. August 16. INTERFAX – the Head of Novoulyanovsk in the Ulyanovsk region Gennady Denikaev said that the gay pride parade that was earlier allowed by the head of the city administration Svetlana Kazarinova, will not be held, said on Thursday the newspaper “Kommersant”.
The activist of the LGBT movement Nikolai Alekseev published in the social network “Vkontakte” the official response of the city authorities the notice on holding of the gay parade: the head of the city administration proposed to move it from the center of the City to the village of Apple, whose population, according to the activist, is seven.
N. Alekseev stressed that it would be “the first in the history of Russia agreed gay parade”.
However, the head of Novoulyanovsk Gennady Denikaev, according to “Kommersant”, said that the activists canceled the resolution because it was not consistent nor with the mayor or with the deputies of the city Duma. He stressed that article 6.21 of the administrative code of the Russian Federation on the promotion of nontraditional sexual relations has not been canceled, and the city Duma deputies will appeal to the regional legislative Assembly that it has proposed legislation to toughen the punishment under this article.
The employee of administration of the City confirmed the radio station “Moscow speaking” that the mayor was not aware of this event and therefore eventually banned it.
