MOSCOW, 9 Aug — RIA Novosti. The company Facebook has continued to provide some advertisers with user data, thereby refuting their statement on the cessation of such actions in 2015, writes the Wall Street Journal, citing sources close to the company.
It is noted that Facebook provided to selected companies within the so-called “white list”, in particular Royal Bank of Canada and Nissan Motor, information about the numbers of users and their friends, as well as how close users communicate with each other.
Representatives of Facebook said that these actions were aimed to improve the perception of users and testing of new functions.
After the publication of this information, representatives from both parties, the United States stated the need for a thorough investigation of Facebook.
