In Ulyanovsk passed to the state property, previously owned by the local “Jehovah’s Witnesses”

Ulyanovsk. July 31. INTERFAX – the Court in Ulyanovsk has paid into the property of the Russian Federation is a large property that previously belonged to the representatives of the banned Union “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.

“In 2017, local religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” was transferred free of charge under the contract of donation of the Association of Jehovah’s Witnesses (the Portuguese Republic) non-residential premises with an area of over 200 square meters on the street Pushkarev,” – said the Prosecutor’s office of the Ulyanovsk region on Tuesday.

The Prosecutor’s office reminds that earlier, the Supreme court granted the petition of the Ministry of justice about the liquidation of the organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and the treatment of their assets in property in Russia.

“Thus, the Prosecutor’s office believes that the deal aimed to gratuitous transfer of premises in the street Pushkarev, was imaginary. It was concluded only in order to avoid adverse consequences in the form of a lawful seizure of property”, – stated in the message of supervising Department.

In this regard, the Prosecutor has directed to court the claim about recognition of the contract of donation of real property is invalid and handle it in the property of the Russian Federation. Currently, the claim is satisfied.

Earlier it was reported that the Supreme court of Moscow on 20 April 2017 at the suit of the justice Ministry acknowledged “Jehovah’s Witnesses” extremist organization and banned its activities in Russia.
