Reid in ‘constant battle’ with Morgan

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has revealed that she feels that the wages are “a constant battle for airtime” with its outspoken co-host Piers Morgan.

“Sometimes I open my mouth to ask a question and hear Piers’s voice come in,” she told the Radio Times.

“You can’t help but go to battle with him every morning,” continued Reid, who quit the BBC for ITV in 2014.

Morgan and Reid have Breakfast as a winning partnership for ITV, but his morning show is still way behind the BBC.

Former tabloid editor Morgan Good Morning Britain joined in the year 2015, with the stated aim of the show, unpredictable, provocative, [and] alive”.

“I have a view that the way to make us really competitive in order to shake things up a bit,” he told the BBC last year.

In an interview with the Radio Times, Reid admitted that her first reaction to his attitude was “Arghhh!” and share the sofa with him was like “a hedgehog”.

Reid said she struggled with their relationship until last year, and there, often coming from the air in tears.

She says what upset her most of all the attacks she received from men who accused them of “activation of his anti-feminist views”.

“The man who was sitting next to me spouting off what he believes, what I don’t agree… but I have had men tell me it was my fault, he said. And I was like, I’ve had enough of men, tell me how a feminist should be. I’ve had enough.”

Reid told the magazine, it was then that she realized that it was their responsibility to “pick up the pieces” after Morgan provoked controversy.

She also claims that she is “very happy” with their current salary and that you don’t know how it compares with your co-hosts, said to be around £1.1 million in the year.

Reid presented BBC Breakfast and was a runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing 2013.
