Paris. June 26. INTERFAX – the President of France Emmanuel macron on Tuesday sent to the Vatican to meet with Pope Francis, according to French media.
It is noted that this will be the first meeting of the French leader and the Pope since, as Emmanuel macron became head of the French state in may of 2017.
The audience in the Apostolic Palace, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. local time. It is expected to last about 25 minutes.
Media note, Emmanuel macron, and the Pope will likely discuss a wide range of topics, in particular the migration issue and the future of Europe and the situation of Christians in the Middle East.
In addition, later on Tuesday, the French President will meet with Secretary of state of the Holy see cardinal Pietro parolin.
In the trip of the French leader will be accompanied by his wife Brigitte, and a delegation of 20 officials, which, in particular, includes the Minister of foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian and interior Minister gérard colon.
