MOSCOW, may 1 – RIA Novosti. Co-founder of WhatsApp messenger and head of the company Jan koum left the post, he said this on his page in Facebook.
“It’s been almost ten years since then, as Brian (Acton – ed.) has created Whatsapp and it was an amazing journey with the best people. But I have to move on. I’m leaving at a time when people use Whatsapp to a greater extent than I could imagine. Thanks to everyone who made this journey possible,” wrote Jan koum.
As reported by the Washington Post, citing sources, Jan koum made this decision due to disagreements with Facebook. In particular, it was not satisfied with the “strategy popular service of sending messages and attempts by Facebook to use personal data and to weaken its encryption”.
