Abdel Fattah al-Sisi won the presidential elections in Egypt

CAIRO, 2 APR — RIA Novosti. The current President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received during the voting in the elections of the head of state about 22 million votes, representing 97% of the total number of voters, said at a press conference in Cairo, Chairman of the Central election Commission Lachine Ibrahim.

Thus, al-Sisi wins the election and re-occupy the presidential chair for the next four years. Voter turnout in the presidential elections in Egypt amounted to 41.05%.

Rival al-Sisi — a little-known politician Musa Mustafa Musa scored of 2.92% of the votes of Egyptian citizens came to the polls.

The vote in the presidential elections in Egypt took place over three days from 26 to 28 March. Overseas voters able to vote from 16 to 18 March. The country was of the order of 59 million voters.

Newly elected Egyptian President will take the oath before the House of representatives in early June 2018, after which a countdown will begin his second term.
