Kirov. June 20. INTERFAX – the deputies of the Kirov municipal Duma at session on Wednesday has made the decision on installation in the city of monument the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II.
The representative of city administration told “Interfax” that the initiator of the monument was made by the Vyatka diocese, which offered to erect it on the quay green.
This initiative caused a great resonance among the citizens. Therefore, on may 30, when the issue of the installation of the monument on the embankment was introduced by the Kirov city Duma, the parliamentarians withdrew it from the agenda before the public hearings.
“June 18, the participants of public hearings discussing the seven proposed sites for the monument, noted that his installation may be more appropriate in one of the Kirov temples than on the waterfront green – space and facilities” – said the Agency interlocutor.
In the end, kirovskie parliamentarians took the decision taking into account the views of the public, recommended that the Vyatka diocese to erect a monument on the territory of Trifonova of a monastery. It was voted 23 deputies, three more voted against it.
Monument to the Royal family planned to install this year – the 100th anniversary of the execution of the last Russian Emperor and his family.
“Vyatka members of the Royal family associates the following sad fact. After the events of the February revolution, Nicholas II and his family were arrested and sent to Siberia. The path of the Royal train ran in the Vyatka province. On the outskirts of Vyatka, the train did stop. This place is now a memorial cross,” – said in a statement on the website of the diocese.
