In Israel are the celebration of the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem

In Israel on Sunday began the celebrations on the occasion of the opening of the new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. Meanwhile, at the border with the Gaza strip and the West Bank of the Jordan river placed additional units of the Israeli security forces in anticipation of the mass protests of the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended the “courageous decision” trump to abandon the longstanding U.S. policy and recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

“This is the right decision,” Netanyahu said.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stressed that by announcing the transfer of the American Embassy in Jerusalem, President trump has fulfilled one of his campaign promises. “The U.S. has no more important partner than Israel,” he said.

Trump announced his decision in Jerusalem in December, which caused a cheerful reaction from the Netanyahu government. However, the decision sparked outrage among Palestinians, who believe Israel annexed East Jerusalem as its capital.

Palestinian authority President Mahmoud Abbas suspended contact trump, saying that she can not continue to play the role of a sole mediator in the peace talks.

However, Hamas that controls the Gaza strip organized a series of weekly demonstrations against the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of their territory. The culmination of these protests will come Monday, when it is expected that tens of thousands of people will gather near the border with Israel. The action is scheduled for the same time as the opening of the new U.S. Embassy.

Hamas has made it clear that the crowd of people who may be in the thousands, trying to break through a fence on the border to implement the “right of return”.
