MOSCOW, April 17 — RIA Novosti. Chile opposes unilateral sanctions of the West against Russia, said RIA Novosti, the country’s Ambassador to Russia Rodrigo Nieto.

“Chile is opposed to unilateral sanctions, and we continue to develop all of the trading opportunities that are presented to us,” said the Ambassador, noting that his country’s support for multilateralism.

Nieto said that despite the fact that Western sanctions have affected Russia, the country was able “to develop areas that are not developed in the past.”

The Ambassador also stated that the cooperation between Chile and Russia are “very broad”. “Commercial, economic side is improving every day, the exchange between the two countries is growing,” said Nieto.

According to him, Chile hopes to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian economic Union (EEU).
