Facebook sales soar ‘despite difficulties’


Facebook’s quarterly sales rose nearly 50% in the social media giant’s first results, as a scandal of privacy on the users data.

The company said that revenues rose to $11.9 million in the first three months of the year, compared with $8bn previously.

Chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, said: “Despite facing significant challenges, our business community and be off to a good start in the year 2018.”

He added that the firm is “taking a broader examination of our responsibility.”
