MG has an early glimpse of a new SUV model scheduled to be released in the next year with the shows, this X-Motion-concept in Beijing.
The model will inspire a production car, the first in China, with details and features, the company acquired a distinctive E-Motion electric sports car concept in 2017.
Under his body, the X-Motion is based on the same underpinnings and suspension as the Roewe RX8, a large China-only SUV, produced by a SAIC-owned brand-born from the ashes of Rover.
The RX8 is powered by a 2.0-litre Turbo-petrol engine that produces 221bhp and 266lb ft of torque, what can be offered to the MG model could also, with this unit.
After its introduction on the Chinese market, the X-movement is likely to be offered elsewhere as part of the MG’s global growth ambitions. It will sit above the ZS and the GS in the brand would be the SUV line-up.
A spokesperson from MG told Autocar that the X could make it to the UK, although a final decision has not yet been done. She said: “MG Motor UK is part of a large, global organization and has access to a range of potential new models. We evaluate each in turn to decide whether you are suitable for the UK market. We intend to launch new models in other segments of the market in the future.”
Since its rebirth, owned by the Chinese automaker SAIC, MG has produced a design center in its old Longbridge home, different models for China, first of all, prior to the introduction in another place. An upcoming example of this is the updated MG 3, which is due on our roads this year.
The trademark ZS small SUV was launched last year and is expected to his best seller. It is a completely new dashboard design with a new infotainment system has been rolled out that is expected on the MG range, as each model is updated.
