YEREVAN, April 22 –RIA Novosti. Tens of thousands of people gathered at the Republic square in Central Yerevan to protest against the election of the Prime Minister of ex-President Serzh Sargsyan, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
For the first time in ten days traditional evening meeting is held without the leaders of the protesters. On Saturday, was detained Armen Grigoryan and Davit Sanasaryan, on Sunday, deputies Nikol Pashinyan, Sasun Mikaelyan and Ararat Mirzoyan.

Earlier on Sunday, in the Erebuni district the police tried to disperse the procession, which led to clashes with the protesters. Used stun grenades and smoke bombs. Several people were injured, seven were hospitalized. Detained more than 200 protesters, including MPs.
Prior to this, talks were held between Nikol Pashinyan and Prime Minister of the country Serzh Sargsyan, they lasted three minutes and ended inconclusively. The Prime Minister said that the actions of the opposition — that’s blackmail, and advised a policy of “return to the legal field”. In response, the MP has promised to continue the demonstration with a new force.
The protests in Yerevan
