Church of the Twelve apostles in the Kremlin opened to the public after reconstruction

Moscow. April 12. INTERFAX – IN the Patriarchal Palace of the Moscow Kremlin reconstruction of equipment for the protection of the icons of the exposition the Church of the Twelve apostles, now it is again open to the public, said on Thursday “Interfax” in the press service of the Kremlin museums.

The exhibition presents icons of “St. Andrew” of the Kremlin Chudov monastery “John the Baptist in the wilderness,” “John the Warrior” and others. In addition, the Church is the iconostasis, transferred from the ascension monastery, which was destroyed in 1929.

Church of the Twelve apostles, built in the XVII century by Patriarch Nikon, was the home Church of the Primate of the Church. Currently there is an exhibition of icon painting of XVII-XVIII centuries, representing the work of the best Royal painters, including Simon Ushakov and Fyodor Zubov.

Church of the Twelve apostles is part of the architectural ensemble of the Cathedral square Museum-preserve “the Moscow Kremlin”. The cost of a single ticket at 500 rubles.
