The joint center for control and coordination of the ceasefire (SCCC) accepted for consideration the appeal of the company “Vodafone-Ukraine” on access to non-government-controlled areas to the damaged cable. This was announced by the head of Department of public relations of the company Victoria Ruban, reports “Radio Freedom”.
“Just a few hours ago JCCC informed us that our message is taken in. Wait. The situation can be solved if we provide physical access to the cable at least in the “grey zone”. If our teams will be provided more or less secure access, we will be able to repair the cable and this will solve the problem with the connection if not for all subscribers, then for most of them,” said she.
Ruban said that “Vodafone-Ukraine” has no direct contacts with illegal armed formations (IAF).
We will remind, on January, 11th in “DNR” said that the mobile operator “Vodafone Ukraine”. The reason for the failure – damage to the cable going towards the village Elenovka.
Later the connection was lost and in “LNR”. It was reported that in the afternoon of 11 January, there was a complete cessation of service to the subscribers of the Ukrainian operator “Vodafone-Ukraine” in connection with the breakage of optical fiber cable in village of olenivka, Donetsk region.
The company has said it will not be able to reconnect in “LNR”, which was disabled as a result of the cable break, if he was interrupted in the occupied territory.
In “DNR” in turn, threatened to take “external control” network “Vodafone-Ukraine”.
