Moscow. 19 Feb. INTERFAX – the Church brings people of traditional sexual orientation, the Chairman of the Department for external Church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.
“Pastoral experience with people who have a homosexual orientation, shows that in many cases a person can completely get rid of it, or to build a life that does not prevent him from being a full man”, he said in the program “Church and world” on TV channel “Russia 24” (VGTRK).
In addition, Metropolitan Hilarion spoke out strongly against adoption of children by transgender people, same-sex couples and persons of different sexual orientation.
Turning to the experience of some Western countries, which equated cohabitation to same-sex marriage and allowed gay couples to adopt children, the Hierarch stressed that “it will be a big mistake if Russia will go on this way”.
