Peugeot 508 sedan flagship will get rear styling inspired by the Instinct concept of the last year. The new car design was shown in new leaked photo ahead of its official reveal at next month’s Geneva motor show.
Published on the Peugeot fan site Peugeot brand’s heritage, the images show that the car will feature styling rear light bar like the one on the Peugeot’s striking 2017 concept.
The images also show that the model, which has been spotted testing several times, and is due to go on sale in the UK in November, it will retain its sedan body style, with a short trunk with built-in lip spoiler to complete a swooping line from the top of the roof of the car.
The car will be the gain of the Peugeot i-Cockpit system, with a digital dashboard, replacing the traditional dials and an 8in touchscreen infotainment by taking the previous on a de-cluttered dashboard.
The headlights are also similar in shape to those of the shooting brake concept, but it is not yet known to what extent the front of the 508 will reflect the Instinct.
Engines should be shared with the greatest Peugeot models, so that the brand BlueHDi engine is due to the 1.6-and 2.0-liter iterations, is a 1.6-liter THP petrol engine with 165bhp.
Peugeot 5008 plug-in hybrid is scheduled for the end of the year, then it is likely that the 508 will use the same powertrain for a range-topping electrified model. The current 508 starts at £25,340; a small price increase is likely for the new model.
A Citroën saloon, returning in 2019 after the C5 was cut in 2016, will be likely to share bases with the 508.
