The head of the Azerbaijani foreign Ministry complained to the representative of the Vatican to the resettlement of Armenian refugees from Syria in Karabakh

Baku. 12 Feb. INTERFAX – foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov told Vatican Secretary for relations with States Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher about the situation around the Karabakh conflict settlement.

On Monday at a meeting with the Archbishop in Baku, Mammadyarov said the illegal settlement in Karabakh of Armenian refugees from Syria, the report said Azerbaijani foreign Ministry. “The policy of settling the occupied territories and the attempt of purposeful changes in the demographic composition are in gross violation of international law,” he said.

The Minister also informed his interlocutor about the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and occupied the position of official Baku.

The interlocutors expressed concern about the rise of racism, xenophobia, discrimination and hatred on ethnic and religious grounds, desires to give the conflict a religious dimension, the report said.
