Abandoned due to the inactivity of the owners of the historic buildings of the Metropolitan government to return to the communal property. Such a political decision can be made in the near future, told reporters the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, quoted by the press service of the mayor.
“I want to warn the owners of those buildings which are in a dilapidated state: we will now consider and make a political decision city Council on the return of such houses is the property of the community“, – said the mayor. He noted that the collapse of a historic building due to the fact that their owners don’t invest in the restoration or maintenance of the buildings in proper condition, or deliberately set it on fire.
Klitschko added that the return of private buildings in the municipal property will take time, because you must comply with all legal procedures.
“We work exclusively in the legal field. And, unfortunately, it requires a little more time in order to collect the relevant documents, to address in Prosecutor’s office and, accordingly, the courts and decision makers. Political decision we will make in the near future at session of the city Council,“ – said Klitschko.
He noted that the task of the city authorities to save the historical building from destruction to Kiev remained the old, historic town.
