INTERFAX – the European court of human rights has accepted for consideration the complaint of the convicted to three years in prison Imam of the mosque Yardyam Mahmoud Valitova, convicted for the justification of terrorism, have informed “Interfax” on Monday, his lawyer Dagir khasavov.
“The ECHR in record time communicated our complaint and gave the Russian Federation a number of questions which must be answered before may 4,” he said.
In the complaint protection indicates a violation against M. Valetova three articles of the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, namely the right to a fair trial, freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
April 28, the Moscow district military court recognised M. Valetova guilty and sentenced to three years in a General regime colony.
As established by the court and a consequence, in September 2013, the Imam during prayers in the mosque Yardyam gave a speech justifying the activities of one of the members of the terrorist organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir” (banned in Russia).
