Two fractured ribs won’t stop Corrie’s Antony Cotton to perform on Dancing on Ice this weekend.

Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in ITV’s Coronation Street, has been wounded on Wednesday during the workout with a partner Brandee Malto.

The 42-year-old was transported to the hospital, but since then, he has said that he hopes to appear on Sunday’s program as intended.

“The show must go on”, he said in a press release. “Hopefully, analgesics and sequins will see us through.”

Appearing on ITV This Morning, Friday, Cotton said he was unable to breathe properly after his skating partner fell on him.

“Essentially, we fell backwards and Brandee landed on top of me and crashed me,” he revealed. “It happened very quickly.”

Cotton said the mishap had left him with crushed ribs “at the front and at the back”. “The worst was that I couldn’t breathe,” he went on.

However, the actor said that he was back in training the following day and was determined not to “phone in sick” this weekend.

The cotton is the latest celebrity to be injured by ITV ice-dancing challenge, which returned last month after four years of absence.

Actress Jennifer Ellison, the rapper Vanilla Ice and the late Keith Chegwin are among those who suffer from injuries in previous series.

In the condition of Cotton is passed to the adjustment, and American professional Malto dance to Gloria Gaynor I Am What I Am on the Sunday.

Winter olympic skating hopes of Nick Buckland and Penny Coomes are also due to perform during the two-hour program.
