Medvedev wished the Patriarch Kirill to save Symphony in relations between Church and state

Moscow. 1 Feb. INTERFAX – Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on the anniversary of his enthronement.

“I would like to Express my hope for preserving those special relationships that have developed during Your Patriarchy, relations which You originally identified the Greek word “Symphony” which is currently in such condition, and remain,” – said Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday at a meeting with the Patriarch in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

He wished the Primate of the “success in serving the Russian Orthodox Church and all of our great state.”

For his part, Patriarch Kirill said that this “Symphony of consonance and harmony” is the perfect image of relations in society, the state, the family and any group.

“Symphony where there are common goals, shared goal-setting, desire and commitment to work together. So I formed Church-state relations in modern Russia”, – he said.

According to him, today the Church has in Russia a full freedom, “such that even abroad, some can not imagine”.

Patriarch Kirill noted that the Church has a great responsibility for people and peace in society, and called these and other tasks shared points of contact with the government.

He thanked D. Medvedev for all the Church-state program fails to implement, because they all ultimately have the same goal – the welfare of the people.
