WASHINGTON, January 10 – RIA Novosti. The city Council of Washington on Tuesday unanimously approved a bill to rename the square in front of the Russian Embassy in the area of Boris Nemtsov, according to the results of the vote.
During the meeting, Council members noted that “this is a symbolic recognition of the memory of Boris Nemtsov”. They also stressed that this step “represents the commitment of the city democracy.” The city Council also expressed the hope that the plaque with the name of Boris Nemtsov appears before the anniversary of his death (to 28 February).
