If the victory belongs to who is a virtual assistant interacting with the most impossible series of budget devices, Amazon has already won.
The company’s voice-activated digital helper has been added to a bathroom mirror – via cloud-service-Kohler Konnect – pass commands to the smart kitchen, faucets, shower system, and a smart toilet.
“This means that ‘Alexa, rinse the ask Kohler to my toilet’ is something you might say at the end, in the near future,” mused Blair Hanley Frank in the news Venturebeat-page.
Who needs a copy of Reader’s Digest, if Alexa is free for a conversation?
Seriously, the battle to your smart home-the virtual butler is highly competitive and a great selection of gadgets on show at the current CES tech show in Las Vegas now have ways for users to interact with you about auxiliary staff, including Alexa, Google assistant, Siri, and others.
But it is the rivalry between Amazon and Google, is particularly striking.
“By day four of CES, we will not report when a gadget joked Alexa or Google Assistant”, by Dieter Bohn, editor-in-chief of tech news site The Verge.
Among the devices with Google Assistant “, many of the new smart speakers, including models from Altec Lansing, JBL and LG.
The breezy aide has also recently been adopted by two of the biggest TV brands – Sony and LG.
At CES 2017, LG, Amazon invited to present on the stage during his press conference in order to, Alexa a wide variety of devices, the honor of an appearance but fell this year on the Google.
The tech giant is the wizard is also added, more in-car entertainment systems, thanks to Android Auto, where it allows a hands-free means that the Check-in to Google apps.Seeing is believing
Clearly, the aide-de-camp is now compatible with smart displays, including the four devices shown at CES.
This is, importantly, enable users to view YouTube videos.
Google recently YouTube Amazon Alexa-powered Echo-blocked devices Display, the feature – screens – so, for the moment, the access to the world’s largest video platform can be seen as a deal-breaker for some.
But the diversity of devices, packaging, Alexa sure seems to be growing more and more.
Out of the bathroom appliances mentioned above, a LG refrigerator that uses Alexa to relay recipe directions while you cook, Amazon assistant is the one who has the most in-roads when it comes to the smart versions of the traditional “white goods” – products.
But a manufacturer – hot tub – apparently unwilling to choose a favorite.
It allows the user to choose Alexa or the Google wizard when you set up the voice activation on smart devices, such as the company’s area, an oven and a microwave.

For analyst Simon Bryant of the market research company Futuresource, the current head is easy to identify.
“There is no question that the momentum is with Amazon,” he told the BBC.
“[The company] has demonstrated that there is a logical use case for a hands-free assistant in the smart home.”
However, he did not think that refrigerators are not and bathtubs, where Alexa most people replace really is essential for home users, not least because such objects often.
And he could be trouble ahead for Amazon, when it tries to Alexa on markets beyond the US and Europe.
“Amazon’s reach geographically, is still quite limited, and language support [- Alexa] is very poor,” he explained.
“Google has many more languages… so, there is a question mark over how long Amazon can sustain the growth.”
Adam Wright, a tech analyst at IDC, agreed that the voice assistant show-down is now a “two-horse race”.
He pointed out that both Google and Amazon have been able to use it easy for developers to create new actions or skills, the people, if the interaction with either Alexa or Google Assistant.
Of course, for many consumers, a virtual assistant is still very much a novelty.
Amazon and Google are already working on ways to inform the user on the functionality, your voice-activated assistant.
“We have over one million actions for the user are available, the [you] can now look up,” a Google spokesman told the BBC.
A really wide user-base, rather than a small phalanx of die-hard fans, would certainly victory for either Alexa or Google employee to be honored.
And of course, the data, which has a large audience in the interaction on the voice from day to day is what these two giant companies really want.
And the rest of it?
“We think that Apple are struggling in difficulties, in order to compete,” said IDC Adam Wright, refers to Apple’s virtual assistant Siri.
The company is a $349 (£258) HomePod-smart-home-hub has yet to be released and also Apple-themed news site Macworld confirmed this week that it “competes with the Echo as a smart home companion”.
Some have asked me if Microsoft’s Cortana helper faces defeat now that Alexa, it is added to PCs manufactured by Acer, Asus and HP.
Currently, Cortana is only 230-skills – far away from 25,000 on Alexa.
But it had produced some interesting products at CES this year, including a snazzy smart thermostat from Johnson Controls.
A tech giant admirable loyalty to his ” home-grown-wizard Samsung.
It has baked Bixby, in TV sets, refrigerators, and smartphones, among other products – and these are just some of the places that you will find it.
