The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, spoke at the annual conference of the party, the Christian social Union of Germany and answered questions from German politicians. The event was held in the Bavarian city of Zeon.
Klitschko said that Ukraine needs the continued support of Western partners.
â€œAs Ukraine is interested in supporting a strong and successful partners and neighbors, and Europe is interested in stable and strong Ukraineâ€œ, – said the mayor of Kiev.
Discussion one of the panels of the conference was devoted to the economic situation, the challenges, which today is opposed to Ukraine, and changes that Ukraine needs to implement. In particular, they talked about the urgency to effectively combat the corruption that hinders the development of the Ukrainian state.
â€œThe Germans today are very interested in further Ukraine’s development, the settlement of the situation in the East of our state, sounded a lot of questions on the fight against corruption, – said Vitaly Klitschko. – It was about the support of Ukraine – financial and political. It is very important for our countryâ€œ, – said Vitaly Klitschko in comments to journalists.
The Christian social Union political party, which is a block from Christian-democratic party of Germany (CDU-CSU), and has United with her faction in the Bundestag. CSU is the ruling party in Bavaria.
In the conference of the Christian social Union took part the head of the party, the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Horst Seehofer, Chairman of the CSU group in the Bundestag Alexander Dobrindt.
This year in Kiev, plans to open a representative office of Bavaria in Ukraine.
