In Ukraine from 1 January launch of the mandatory requirements of the European Union to products of cocoa and chocolate, which should ensure compliance with the European standards of safety and quality of food. It is reported by the EU delegation in Ukraine in Facebook.
Now chocolate can be called only one product that contains at least 35% cocoa products.
Milk chocolate should be more than 25% cocoa and not less than 14% of dairy products. White chocolate must contain at least 20% cocoa butter and 14% milk products.
“In contrast to the requirements of national standard of Ukraine (DSTU), which is voluntary, European standards are obligatory for execution”, – emphasized in the representation.
As reported, Ukraine introduced antidumping duty on Russian chocolate.
