Calling for “change” in Iran, trump returned to the White house

In the coming days the President will discuss the legislative agenda for the year 2018 with Republican leaders in Congress

President Donald trump is back in the White house, in issuing a new call for “change” in Iran, where anti-government protests intensify.

Trump returned to Washington after a long stay at his estate in palm beach, Florida, which ended with a party at New year’s eve.

Before leaving the capital, he was hit with angry tweets on Iran and Pakistan have condemned Islamabad over the “lies and deception”.

Trump said that Pakistan kept us leaders for “fools” and expressed frustration that Islamabad is not doing enough to control militants.

As for Iran, the trump strongly reiterated the support of the mass anti-government protests in the country. On Monday he tweeted that “Iran is failing on every level” and that it was “time for change”.

According to news agencies and social networks, on Monday evening, the Iranian protesters attacked police stations. Meanwhile, security forces are trying to resist the very bold call, thrown to the religious leadership of the country after the unrest of 2009.

In social networks there was a video with an intense clash in Kenderian between security forces and demonstrators trying to occupy the partially fire to the police station.

There are unconfirmed reports of several casualties among the demonstrators.

In the city of Kermanshah protesters set fire to a post of traffic police.

Meanwhile, Vice-President Mike Pence in his first tweets in 2018 promised to support the people of Iran who participate in protests against the authorities in several regions of the country.

“Until Donald trump is President and I was Vice-President, United States of America will not repeat the shameful mistakes of our past, when some stood by and ignored the heroic resistance of the Iranian people, fought against his brutal regime. The growing resistance of the Iranian people now gives hope and faith to all who fight for freedom and against tyranny. We should not, and will not leave them in the lurch,” wrote Pence.

On the topic of Pakistan, trump wrote: “the United States foolishly gave Pakistan aid worth more than $ 33 billion over the past 15 years, and in return they gave us nothing but lies and deceit, holding our leaders for fools. They give refuge to terrorists, for which we’re hunting in Afghanistan, and almost do not help us. Not anymore!”

It is unclear why the President decided to speak on the topic of Pakistan.

The United States has long accused Islamabad in that it allows militants to operate relatively freely in the border areas to conduct operations in neighboring Afghanistan.

In August, the U.S. announced that it will suspend military assistance to Pakistan in the amount of $ 255 million, while it will not deal with extremists who threaten Afghanistan.

The foreign Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif tweeted that his government was preparing a response, from which “the world will know the truth.”

This year, the President hopes that the new legislative achievements after the successful adoption of tax reform before Christmas.

He plans to meet with the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell and speaker of the house of representatives Paul Ryan at his residence, camp David next weekend to map out the legislative agenda for the year 2018.

The white house announced that in January, trump will offer a long-awaited infrastructure plan.

Trump also said he wants to revise the system of state benefits, and suggested that Democrats and Republicans “in the end will unite” to develop a new healthcare system.

The legislators also left unfinished business concerning the provision of additional assistance to victims of hurricanes, increase the debt ceiling, the extension program medical insurance for children and the extension of measures for the protection of immigrants illegally brought into the United States in childhood.

Trump said that requires money to build the wall in exchange for the protection of these immigrants.
