In Syria, the imams called on the faithful to pray for the end of the drought period

Dubai. 29 Dec. INTERFAX – the Muslim clergy of Syria has urged residents to pray for the end of drought and the onset of the rainy season, reports the associated press.

A request to imams earlier this week asked the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who called to address the issue of drought during Friday prayers.

According to the Agency SANA, during 2017, the population of Syria is facing an acute problem of drought. The lack of rains was the main cause of crop failure.

Earlier this week, Israeli agriculture Minister URI Ariel appealed to the citizens of their country and asked them to pray for rain in Israel. According to local media, the prayer about the end of the drought Thursday at the wailing Wall in Jerusalem gathered several thousand people.
