An armed man opened fire on a Coptic Church near Cairo, killing ten people (updated version)

Dubai. 29 Dec. INTERFAX – an Armed man opened fire on the Coptic Church, located South of Cairo, said Friday the associated press.

The attack killed at least ten people, including the attacker, the Agency said, citing the Ministry of health of Egypt. Among the victims were several police officers.

The guards returned fire and eliminated an armed man who tried to storm the building of the Church.

Responsibility for the attack has not yet assumed none of the terrorist organization.

Copts have repeatedly become victims of attacks by extremists in Egypt. For example, in may this year in an attack by armed men on two buses carrying Coptic Christians in Egyptian province of Minya, killing more than 30 people.

Egypt is home to about 9 million Christians, mostly Copts.
