In Belarus demand to ban advertising images of scantily clad people

Moscow. 28 Dec. INTERFAX – More than a thousand people signed the collective complaints with the requirement to prohibit the use in advertising of half-naked men and women.

These appeals were forwarded to the Ministry of Antimonopoly regulation and trade (MARCH), which is responsible for uniform state policy in the field of advertising, according to Marketing.by.

According to citizens, this is discreditied the Republic of Belarus in the eyes of the citizens of countries with stable moral and ethical standards, denigrates the objects being historical and cultural values, promoting sexual promiscuity has a negative influence on the formation of values in children, and forms the image of women solely as sex objects.

The letter was considered at a meeting of the working group of the Interdepartmental Council on advertising. According to group members, violations of the requirements of the law “On advertising” most of the stories are not seen, but in a separate advertising still, “there are signs of violation.”

In addition, the Ministry has asked the advertising Association to Express an opinion about the positions of disgruntled citizens, as well as “to consider the necessity of amending the law restrictions prohibiting the use in advertising of half-naked men and women, and to submit in MARCH reasoned opinion of associations”, the newspaper reports.
