Saakashvili has promised to “not pull” of Ukrainians to new year holidays

KYIV, 19 Jul — RIA Novosti. The ex-President of Georgia, former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili explained that he had taken a pause in the rallies to “not pull” of Ukrainians in the period of new year and Christmas holidays.

“Ungrateful Ukrainians to pull on Christmas and new year holidays. It is only with this”, — Saakashvili said to journalists on Tuesday, his words leads the Ukrainian Internet-edition Lb.ua.

The politician also said that every March of his supporters was accompanied by provocations, and the last one almost ended with the capture of the October Palace near Maidan Nezalezhnosti. “So when we do these marches, we need a clear mechanism of protection from provocations,” he said.

Saakashvili’s supporters after Sunday’s rally in Kiev tried to storm the October Palace, where the concert was held. In the building clashed with the security forces. Later after calling the President a majority of the protesters left the Palace and went to the Parliament building. They said that what happened was the result of provocation. The police initiated three criminal cases. According to the national guard, 60 Ukrainian soldiers were injured during the clashes, 15 of them were hospitalized.
