2018 Honda Insight revealed ahead of the auto show in Detroit

The Honda Insight is back in 2018 with a hybrid powertrain, Honda revives its Toyota Prius rival to the U.S. market.

A full suite of image-accompanied by Honda’s announcement, indicating that the car is going to take a more conventional room shape that its Prius-high top predecessor.

The front will adopt Honda’s aggressive new style, with a metallic strip running the width of the front, tying in with Honda’s other models of the united states.

For its third generation, the Insight will not be sold in the united KINGDOM, but the IMA – Integrated Motor Assist – system will find its way into the later UK cars such as the CR-V due in 2018, as well as future hybrids, such as Honda continues its efforts in favour of electrification.

In cases where the hybrids have been affected by their electrification, the new Insight will be “a great car in its own right, regardless of what is happening under the hood,” said Honda America boss, Henio Arcangeli.

“The all-new lighting embodies Honda’s approach to the creation of electric vehicles, without the typical compromises.”

Honda is the first inspiration, in 1999, was ranked the most fuel-efficient gasoline car certified by the EPA at the time. Honda has not yet announced fuel consumption of the next Insight will be, but Arcangeli described the car as having “best-in-class” performance”, suggesting that it may be more economical than its rivals.
